Plutocracy 101

Plutocracy: ploo-tahc-ruh-see, n. - 1. A rule by the wealthy. 2. People of the wealthy ruling class

A simple idea, really... the rich guys run the show... it's that simple.

Now, I know that here in the good ol' USA, we're SUPPOSED to be living in a Constitutional Democratic Republic, which means that we elect our leaders democratically, they're bound by a Constitution, and they are supposed to be representative of the people they govern; but tell me why that describes our system of government more effectively than the label of Plutocracy...

If your answer is, “well, we vote...” let me just point something out to you.

Sure... you CAN vote...

… for your choice of RICH people...

… but you never see anybody like you or me on the fuckin' ballot... ever notice that?

Doesn't that kind of piss you off? Anybody with a fat bank account can take THEIR shot at governing, but if you or I wanted to try and speak for people like US, we couldn't do it because we simply couldn't AFFORD to run! And don't give me any of this “if they're poor then they manage money poorly” bullshit... some people are intelligent, educated people who just never got a break in life. Arguably, those are the people you WANT running things, because they have first-hand knowledge of the cracks that people can fall through. They see changes they want made to the way things are, and believe that there are more people who agree with them. Just because they're not rich doesn't mean they're fuckin' retarded. Hell, there are plenty of rich bastards who're dumb as rocks... look at Paris Hilton, for example...

Money can buy a lot of shit... Ferraris... yachts... condos in Aspen... Penthouses in New York... servants... but it doesn't necessarily buy intelligence.

Was Jesus rich? What about Buddha? How about Moses? Or Mohammed? Certainly not. So, if the historical figures who are looked to the most for guidance were broke as shit, why do we expect the rich to be better leaders?

So, simply put, if you MUST be rich to run, and poor people like you and I CAN'T run for financial reasons, doesn't that mean that we are ruled by the wealthy? It's simple! A+B=C!

… but it goes so much farther than that... suppose you just wanted to have an IMPACT on an election... what would happen, then?

Well, for one, if all you're doing is spitting money at a cause or a candidate, consider this...

The millionaires and billionaires CAN AND WILL counter any meager donation you can dish out, and they do it EVERY FUCKIN' ELECTION (and also with their own lobbying efforts between elections)!!! Our elections and government are bought and sold as easily by the rich as you and I buy canned peas at the supermarket!

Sure, we can still vote for the person who speaks best for us; but you and I are cool, informed, smart motherfuckers. The problem is that there are a SHITLOAD of morons out there, too! As the great George Carlin once said, “Imagine how stupid the average person is. Now, realize that half the people are even stupider than that!”

The problem is, THOSE people vote, just like you and I. Some of them don't even have the mental capacity to strap their velcro shoes; people who should have been “naturally de-selected” a long time ago, but somehow lucked out...

… you know the type...

… Glenn Beck fans...

… people who think Sarah Palin is smart...

… people who would vote for Ted Nugent for President of the United States...

… people who believe the world is less than 10,000 years old and possibly flat...

… people who use the phrase “liberal media bias”...

… people who think that there are “death panels” in Obamacare...

… people who still drive around with “Bachmann 2012” bumper stickers...

… I think you get the point...

Anyway, the fact that THOSE PEOPLE vote, means that if WE want to have an impact on the system and those who govern us, WE have to be more active! Just coughing up money isn't enough anymore.

It used to be; but back then, there was a lot less space between our wealth and that of the super-rich. We could more easily match their contributions as a collective, so we had more of a voice. But starting in the 1980's, when the amount of wealth of the people at the top started to pull away from the rest of us, they've consistently gotten more and more power over Washington as they've gotten more and more dirty, filthy money!

What do they DO with that influence? They have laws made that ONLY benefit them, while taking resources away from the rest of us! They manipulate the lawmakers into making laws that let them get away with just about anything they want! As a result, if you or I steal, we get thrown in the can. If an executive steals the raises, pensions, and dignity from his employees; or if bankers sink half the world's economy, that's just fine... they're operating in a perfectly legal manner... no problem there... nope, not at all...

The result of living in a plutocracy is that the rich prosper, while the rest of us get repeatedly FUCKED!

Here at the bottom, we're TIRED of being shit on! We're tired of having to do MORE with LESS! We're tired of tightening belts! It's time the RICH had to do it for a change!

We demand RESPECT; something we haven't gotten for a LONG fuckin' time! We demand RAISES; something ELSE we haven't gotten for a long time! We demand BENEFITS; something that we've had slashed over and over and over again, to the point where they've almost completely gone away!

Don't like it? You rich fucks can go cry in your Bentleys! SUCK IT UP!

The rest of us are tired of crying in our Hondas!

Don't like your situation, you spoiled, over-entitled, pampered bastards? Try downgrading and see how the REST OF US like it...

FUCK your mansions, second homes, and your yachts!

FUCK your Ferraris and your private jets!

Why the fuck do you NEED this shit, unless it's to show the rest of us how much better YOU THINK you are than the rest of us?

This is where I coin a term; new to the lexicon as of now. It should become regularly used in conversation, and should instill a feeling of PRIDE among all of you who agree with me, that things are fucked up... that things NEED to be fixed... that we have to take the power away from the worst of the rich douchebags! This is where we introduce the word that should be on everyone's lips:

ANTIplutocracy!
